Traveling to Auckland

Many people called Auckland as “City of Sails” because its harbor is often filled with hundreds of yachts and has more per capita than any other city in the world. With the sheltered Waitemata Harbour at its doorstep, Auckland has many nautical events, and a large number of sailing clubs.

Beside sea-related recreation there are many interesting place in Auckland for traveler. If you love shopping Newmarket and Parnell is the right place for you. The Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Centre host conferences and cultural events such as theatre and opera. The Auckland Art Gallery display many national treasures such as the work of Colin McCahon, for other significant cultural artifacts reside at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, the National Maritime Museum, or the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT). Amazing animals can be observed at the Auckland Zoo and Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World.

Don’t forget to visit Auckland Domain, one of the largest parks of the city, close to the CBD and having a good view of the harbor and of Rangitoto Island. Mount Eden, a volcanic cone with a grassy crater offers 360-degree views of Auckland will be your favorite place to enjoy beautiful scenery of Auckland from the top. Try adventure traveling at Waiheke Island. This place is well known for its beaches, forests, vineyards and olive groves.
